Red Lion Turf Club

Tarkesar and Miss Faye Bramley (purple and white colours) win the Persimmon Homes Lady Riders’ Handicap Hurdle, Perth.

Paul’s Red Lion Turf Club is a well-established racing club which has enjoyed considerable success over the years. It is open to all-comers and offers the excitement of ownership without a large capital outlay.

So if you are keen to join us in the winner’s enclosure send us an e-mail requesting a leaflet and joining details to info@paulblockley.co.uk; or for more information contact us on 07778 318295.

In 2008 two horses will race in the club’s colours. They are Friends Hope, a seven-year-old Chestnut mare by Docksider, who has already won six times on the turf and all-weather, picking up more than £20,000 in prize money, and an un-named two-year-old.

Membership costs £500, plus a monthly payment, by standing order, of £42 which allows the turf club to purchase new horses as new members come on board. For every friend you introduce to the club your monthly payment will be reimbursed, so theoretically you could enjoy a year’s racehorse ownership for just £500.

So what are the benefits of membership:

  • An equal share of all prize money won by club horses
  • A monthly e-mail newsletter
  • Tours of Felstead Court and watch horses working on the famous Lambourn gallops
  • Photographs of club horses
  • Days out at the races
  • A ballot for 10 free owners badges per club runner, plus additional badges at a discount

VAT: Initially the cost of membership will not attract VAT but as the club grows in size, the joining fee and monthly subscription may be subject to VAT.
